Glitz and glamour aside, celebrity couples still have to go through the same trials and tribulations of finding love like the rest of us.

Whether that's being introduced by a mutual friend, sliding into a DM or prancing around in a music video. Of course, we've all done that.

There was even the case of one very famous twosome who first met when they were sat next to each other on a plane in quite possibly the most romantic first meeting in showbiz.

While it's not common in Hollywood for couples to stand the test of time, some do and some, well, fizzle.

We take a look at how romance sparked for some of showbiz's most famous couples and how they managed to hook up under the spotlight.

Couple du jour Meghan and Harry need no introduction. They were set up by their mutual pal Misha Nonoo, the fashion designer, who decided to intervene and put the former Suits star in touch with the Prince.

"We were introduced, actually, by a mutual friend - it was literally through her and we met once and then twice, back to back, two dates in London last July, beginning of July, and then it was about three, maybe four weeks later that I managed to persuade her to join me in Botswana," Harry revealed in their TV interview, which aired hours after their royal engagement was confirmed.

Meghan wasn't phased by the Prince's title telling the BBC in 2017: "Because I’m from the States, you don’t grow up with the same understanding of the royal family.

“I didn’t know much about him, so the only thing that I had asked [our mutual friend] when she said that she wanted to set us up, was, ‘Well, is he nice?’ Cause if he wasn’t kind, it just didn’t seem like it would make sense.”

The pair felt a spark upon meeting and immediately began planning their second date. “We met for a drink, and then I think very quickly into that we said, ‘Well, what are we doing tomorrow? We should meet again,’” Meghan said.

The controversial couple tied the knot in May 2018 and welcomed their son, Archie one year later. The actress is due to give birth to the pair's daughter this summer.

It's been up and down for music's supercouple, but they are still happily married 13 years after tying the knot.

The pair are believed to have first met on a plane back in 2000 when Beyonce was just 18 and fronting Destiny's Child.

It's believed the pair sat next to each other on a flight to Cancun in Mexico as they were both due to attend the MTV Spring Break festival.

Jay Z later immortalised the moment in 2018 song Everything Is Love, rapping: "We played it cool at the pool of the Cancun VMA / Confidence you exude make the fools stay away / Me, I played my room, let the fools have they say / Fate had me sittin' next to you on the plane / And I knew straight away."

It wasn't love straight away as they stayed friends for a year, keeping in touch via phone, before finally going on their first date at swanky sushi restaurant Nobu in 2001.

Jay Z made the mistake of bringing a friend along for their first official date, but Beyonce gave him another chance and the rest is history.

They went on to work together, married in 2008 and they became parents to three kids.

David and Victoria Beckham

Footballer David Beckham first laid eyes on Posh Spice back in 1997 when the singer attended one of his games for Manchester United and they locked eyes in the players' lounge at Old Trafford.

Becks was besotted and Victoria was enchanted by his "cute smile" - but he was just a fledgling footie star and she was the famous one.

She detailed their first meeting in a piece for Vogue magazine, writing: "While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family.

"(He's not even in the first team at this stage - you are the famous one). And he has such a cute smile. You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you."

David was so keen to secure a date with her, he asked for her phone number which she scribbled on a London to Manchester plane ticket, which he's kept to this day.

Sports Illustrated model Chrissy met Grammy winner John in 2007 when she starred as his love interest in the music video for his song Stereo.

After the shoot, the Twitter personality went back to the singer's hotel room for a burger, followed by dessert... "I'm not going to lie. We hooked up,” Chrissy admitted to Cosmo in 2014.

Although their relationship started out casually, John said he began to develop feelings for the cookbook author telling Entertainment Tonight in 2016: "I just started to fall in love with how engaging and witty and funny she is."

The couple married in 2013 and have two children, Luna and Miles.

Hollywood superstars Brangelina first met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith back in 2004. At the time, Brad was still married to Friends actress Jennifer Aniston.

At first, the duo claimed they weren't dating, but both later admitted that they "fell in love" while working together as undercover assassins.

The couple officially got together in 2005 and became parents to six children before they got married in 2014. However, the marriage soon after broke down and Jolie filed for divorce in 2016.

The highly-publicised break up has dragged on for four years with Brad recently being awarded joint custody of the couple's children.

Will first met Jada when she was 19 when the actress auditioned to play his onscreen girlfriend in his 90s classic show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Romance didn't blossom straight away, but they kept in touch and eventually friendship turned to romance.

Speaking to YourTango, Jada said: "After we had known each other for many years, we went out for dinner one night and I saw that he had grown from this lanky kid to this really responsible man.

"We started courting each other and our friendship turned into romance."

The couple married in 1997 and share two children Jaden, 22, and Willow, 20.

However the pair haven't always been getting jiggy with as they addressed rumours last year that Jada had an affair during an explosive episode of her smash-hit talk show.

But they are still together and seemed to have patched up their differences.
