Dr Dre has won a legal battle against his estranged wife Nicole Young after a judge turned down her request for $6million in legal and living expenses from him, according to TMZ. Nicole Young reportedly asked that Dre be demanded to pay $5million for the cost of her lawyers and a further $1.5million in other expenses, including security.

Nicole's legal team claimed she has received death threats since the break-up and needs protection. However, on Thursday a judge dismissed the claim, in part because Nicole scrapped the previous security team that Dre was paying out for.

The hip-hop mogul's lawyer Laura Wasser told the judge that Dre is still willing to pay for Nicole's expenses, including security, to which the judge responded that Nicole could choose a private company for her personal protection but the cost could not exceed what Dre was willing to pay.

Nicole's lawyers then asked for the hearing regarding Dre paying their $5million fees to be moved from January to this month - which the judge also denied.

Nicole, 50, filed for divorce from Dre, 55, in June after 24 years of marriage citing 'irreconcilable differences'. The pair, who share two children; son Trucie Young, 23, and daughter Truly Young, 19, had been living apart since March.

Dre is the fourth richest rapper in the world - behind Kanye West, Jay Z and Sean 'P Diddy' Combs and is estimated to be worth $800million after selling Beats by Dr Dre brand to Apple and his extensive music and production back catalogue.
