Christmas, celebrated on 25th December is always a great day for many Christians. This is the time when all manner of celebrations are done as they remember the birth of their savior. However, some people have gone to extremes in the name of celebrating this day. Below are ten weird things people do in the name of celebrating X-mas.
Eating like there is no tomorrow
A good number of people will overeat during this X-mass season. As they move from one homestead to another, they will not fail to pick ‘mandazi’ here, ‘chapati’ there, ‘kuku choma’, ‘mbuzi’ etc. All types of food will be mixed in one stomach and the results may be devastating.
Drinking Silly
There are people who will buy crates of beer in the name of celebrating X-mass. Never mind that majority of these chaps have never seen the inside of a church. Since they are naturally alcohol lovers, they will use this excuse to drink themselves silly and even sleep on trenches.
Immorality/Making Love
As weird as it may sound, there are some guys who will indulge in immorality in the name of celebrating X-mass! According to such men, since this is now a time of enjoying, they should enjoy it the way they want.
Reporting to Church for the first time
Drunkards and pagans will go to church for the first time so as to associate themselves with Christianity. This is why many churches are usually full during this time. When the day is over, these people will go back to their regular lifestyle.
Hustling
Despite being given time offs from their works, many folks opt to do side hustles during this day to make more coins. They will be selling children toys, balloons, presents, face paintings for children, and even doing taxi businesses. There are also those who will exploit the opportunity to venture into the fast food business to cater for those who have no one to take care of their stomachs during this time.
Check work emails
Some people will be bored to death and hence; they will resort to check work emails from their laptops, tablets or smartphones. They will be eager to know if there is a new email from their boss which they can respond to and tasks that require their urgent attention.

Strolling aimlessly
Still for those who have no much to do on that day and no hustle to pursue, they will resort to just walking aimlessly to where they had not planned to go. The aim is to push time and reduce the boredom.
Looking for a job
Belief you me, some people will utilise their holiday opportunity to look for “greener pastures”. They will be moving from one company to another or making applications as they try their luck.
Being engrossed on their smartphones
Old habits never die away. Rather than socialising with their peers, family, or colleagues, many people will spend the day chatting on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and forwarding the same message to as many people as possible.
