The 26-year-old Nyeri MCA who campaigned with a rusty bicycle and eventually clinched the seat in 2017 has finally married in a wedding that saw top of range vehicles featured.
Symon Muturi and his fiancé Eunice Gichohi exchanged vows at PCEA Muruguru in a posh event that saw locals turn up in large numbers.
The young Muturi dazzled in a navy blue suit with his wife donning a beautiful cinderella white gown. His new political position seemed to have turned around his life that was once a laughing stock.
Fondly referred to as ‘MCA wa Muithikiri’ (loosely translated to as bicycle MCA) by locals, his triumph was, at the time, touted as perhaps one of the most dramatic political upsets in Nyeri County.
The jobless business administration graduate rode against a well-oiled wave with a shoe-string budget after managing to raise the Sh30, 000 required by the party.
By December that year, however, his fortunes had changed courtesy of car loans and mortgages regulations approved by the Nyeri County Assembly.
In it, MCAs got access to a car loan of not more than Sh2 million and mortgage of Sh3 million.
He purchased a brand new Toyota Premio which he showcased for the first time during the Jamhuri Day celebrations at the Dedan Kimathi Kamukunji Grounds in Nyeri town.
