A Ugandan man has been convicted after being found guilty of smearing red pepper on his wife’s underwear.

Moses Okello, a resident of Barmola village in Kole District has been sentenced to 40 days of community service.

The court heard that Okello smeared red pepper on his wife’s undies on 20th January 2018 and went ahead to persuade her to put it on.

Oblivious of what he had done to the pant, the lady put it on.

Shortly after, she developed unbearable irritation that did not go away even after she bathed.

The woman confirmed to the court that she developed swelling in her privates prompting her to seek a doctor’s help.

She would later go to the police after she learnt that the irritation was a result of what her husband did to the knickers.

Okello pleaded guilty and said that he smeared the red pepper on the underwear just to make fun of his wife.
