A poll loser in South Rift has been forced to ask for forgiveness from villagers he conned.

The newbie politician was said to have lied to some of his constituents that he had signed a contract with poles from their farms.

Being a Mheshiwiwa, most of his victims believed the deal was genuine and allowed the man to cut down their trees on the understanding that he would pay them once he gets his millions from the contractor.

Grapevine learnt that after cutting down trees belonging to scores of his constituents and “supplying’ them to the clients, the politician, who lost in the August 8 polls disappeared to the capital city making it difficult for his ‘business partners to trace him.

However, it did not take long for the man to get broke and go back home. He has since mended fences with promise to pay them for their trees.
