Former Miss Universe Marete launches fashion line

Former Miss Universe Rachel Mbuki Marete is set to launch her fashion store in Kilimani, Nairobi.

“I haven’t moved back home, just yet. I am still working in Los Angeles. Last year, when I came back home I realised it was perfect time to come back and set up something in Kenya.

I was tired of feeling like a foreigner whenever I visited. So I decided to set up a couple of businesses because I think they are great ideas.”

Rachel’s fashion store is currently online and is dubbed, Mbuki’s Closet.

“I decided to open the fashion line because every time I was around, my friends would request I buy them either shoes or dresses. I also realised it is hard shopping here.

Finding specific brands and good quality stuff was hard, so, I decided to bring the same brands at favourable prices. I will be launching a physical store at a local mall within Kilimani area and I am currently doing the finishing touches.”

The store, she revealed, will soon introduce plus-size clothes and will feature Kenyan models as their brand faces.

Rachel is currently a TV presenter at The Qyou Network and recently, launched her new TV show, Q-Hit which she also produces.
