This 3-D animation movie by Walt Disney follows the life of Judy Hopps (Ginnifer), a rabbit from the rural lands of animal country as she follows her dream to the big city-Zootopia - to become the first rabbit cop. She encounters numerous challenges, including discrimination as she is confined to a metre girl. Wanting to prove her parents' prayers that she gets a minor role in the police departments wrong, she decided to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Otterton, the florist. Picking up Nick Wilde, a cunning fox, she ventures into the wild, where she discovers predators are going savage. Her investigations uncover a deeper plot which involves office holders of the city.

Thumbs Up

Following on the hot steps of great animation movies like Ice Age and Madagascar, the characters have been made funny and endearing. The use of human props in the city made everything surreal. Idris Elba, as police Chief Bogo, was brilliant with his deep voice and British accent. Here is also a mafia scene, where Mr Big talks like Marlon Brando on Godfather. Brilliant.

Thumbs Down

One can feel the plot stretching especially towards the final third of the movie. Also, Judy's split emotions about making it and disappointing his friends were too exaggerated.

Verdict

One of the most entertaining animation movies in a long time. A good watch for a weekend in.
