The Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts; Dr. Hassan Wario has officially launched The National Music Policy.

The launch was witnessed by local artistes who applauded the CS for his commitment in support of music industry in Kenya.

MCSK,PRISK were aong the industry players present at the launch in Nairobi.

In April the Cabinet secretary had appointed a committee of experts and stakeholders in music industry to finalize drafting of the National Music Policy.

 The policy which will be tabled in parliament will among other things  guide and regulate all the players in the music industry; Protect the rights  of musicians against any form of illegal  exploitation.;  Enhance the development of the music industry and  promote  effective  music  management  and  use  for  national  development
