Celebrities will always hide their life stories from the world in the quest to maintain that “posh and glamorous” status but not BET Award winner Eddy Kenzo, whose grass to grace life story would make for an award winning publication.

Having spent most of his life as a street kid, Ugandans and East Africa at large was impressed to see one of their own bring the BET Viewers Choice Award home as none would have ever imagined it quite happening.

In a series of interview, Eddy has been opening up about his life with the most recent being that his family was once homeless and his father spent two years sleeping under a tree.

“He actually pretended he was mad but he wasn’t. It is because he had lost his job and couldn’t afford to rent a house,” Kenzo narrated the story of his late father Hassan Ssenyange who passed away in 2012.

Evidently beating the odds and defining his destiny, the singer now owns a mansion in Sseguku priced at UGX 500m that he has been living in for close to a month.

“I have a few other houses. I have achieved them over a short period of time, but I hope to achieve more,” Kenzo revealed.
