Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket has taken a bite out of Luis Suarez with a novelty song marking the Uruguayan's World Cup misdemeanour.

In "I Was Bit By Luis Suarez", he sings of being in a bar in the striker's homeland when Suarez takes a nibble out of.

Cricket said: "I was watching the World Cup and this whole incident surrounding Luis Suarez was just incredible. I could not believe it had happened. So it inspired me to have a bit of fun and write a comedy song about me bumping into Mr Suarez.

"And there’s more; I created the song to give everyone a giggle or two, even those who are not keen on football, so I really hope everyone enjoys listening and watching it!"

Suarez infamously bit Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during one of the group games at the tournament.

It was the third time the striker had been found guilty of biting an opponent.

The idea of the song was discovered by a specialist record label called Rolling Tear, which is based in West Yorkshire.

Rolling Tear immediately arranged for Jimmy’s track to be recorded and for him to feature in the filming of an accompanying music video. The song is due to be released at the end of the month.

David Tennant from the company said: "When I heard of the proposed title to the song, I just could not stop chuckling to myself. At that point we had to get Jimmy into the studio and recording the song.

"I definitely know there will be people out there who just will be intrigued to find out what this is all about!"
