P Unit release a L.O.V.E a soft beat |
By Wesley Kipngenoh (@wess_kipp)
Music has a way of changing, a way of sounding different every time it’s done by a different artiste. The genres dictate it all. P-Unit seems to have learnt this as they now sing to a new foreign tune, Kwaito.
The group with their youthful energy has a history of experimenting with music a lot. They surprised us when they did a Lingala afro-beat with Alicious. “Mobimba”, a danceable beat did well, despite the change of tune.
Now they are back to the airwaves, dumping the Genge word for South African beat L.O.V.E, that brings the soft side of the group. It’s unlike of P-Unit to lovey-dovey around in their music but ‘L.O.V.E’, their new South African beat song, reveals a new side of the trio.
The group explains that the song brings out the different soft sides of the individual personalities. They express love, they sing love, and they play to love in the new beat, in a South African way
This single is far from the Genge signature, that we know, and how the fans will react to it, remains a wait and see game.
