A Councilman in Colombia, Marco Fidel Ramirez, wants Shakira’s latest song, “Can’t Remember to Forget you” banned from airplay in the country.

According to CNN, Ramirez claims that the song promotes ‘lesbianism’ and smoking and wants it banned in the country for “immoral and vulgar” content.

Shakira, well known for her “Hips Don’t Lie” song, featured Rihanna in her latest song “Can’t Remember to Forget you.” The video shows the two singers smoking and caressing each other in bed.

Ramirez claims that the images in the video are not useful for the emotional growth and development of the youth.

In a letter to Shakira, Ramirez appeals to her as a mother to pull down the video from the internet and goes ahead to tell Shakira that he believes a normal family comprises of a father, mother and children.

Ramirez says that Shakira has talent and fame and thus doesn’t need sex to sell her albums.

Since its upload on you tube, the song has received more than 77 million views. Watch the video below and see why the Councilman wants it banned.
