Luana Andrade, a prominent Brazilian influencer, tragically died due to complications during a cosmetic procedure in Sao Paulo on November 7. The hospital informed local media outlet Globo that she suffered a severe pulmonary embolism during a liposuction surgery.
Approximately two and a half hours into the procedure, Andrade, 29, experienced cardiac arrest, requiring resuscitation by medical staff. Subsequent tests revealed a significant thrombosis, a condition where blood clots obstruct veins or arteries, leading to her transfer to the ICU.
The hospital cited her cause of death as a massive pulmonary embolism, a known risk associated with liposuction procedures, often originating from blood clots forming in the legs and obstructing blood flow to the lungs, as per the Mayo Clinic.
Andrade gained recognition by participating in the 2022 reality show Power Couple Brasil 6 alongside her boyfriend, Joao Hadad, amassing over half a million followers on Instagram.
Following her sudden and tragic passing, Hadad mourned her loss on Instagram, sharing a heartfelt tribute alongside a photo of the two during a visit to Paris.
Expressing profound grief, Hadad wrote, "I am shattered, living my worst nightmare. A part of me is gone." He bid a poignant farewell to Luana, his princess, and spoke of their two years together, highlighting the beauty of their shared experiences and dreams. He described her not just as a girlfriend but as a partner transcending life itself, expressing an inability to fathom her absence and the depth of her missed presence.
Continuing his tribute, he conveyed his enduring love for her and the immense void left by her departure. "You are my guiding light, my princess," he expressed, asking for her continued watchfulness from above and professing eternal love and gratitude.
