President William Ruto was the chief guest at a civil wedding that marked the rolling out of Digital Government Services at KICC and one couple was lucky to walk away with a fully-paid trip to Diani.
To demonstrate the effectiveness of the online process, the two lovebirds (Nicholas and Judith) were randomly picked and exchanged vows in the presence of the Head of State and other top government officials.
They then proceeded to sign their marriage certificate before President Ruto was invited on stage to congratulate them.
He said the two were a random pick among hundreds of Kenyans who intended to wed on Friday and apologised for disrupting their plans.
"Congratulations on your wedding. I am very pleased to attend your wedding. I instructed the Ministry to pick two random Kenyans who would wed today. We apologise for disrupting you.
"They (Nicholas and Judith) did everything online and I requested the registrar if they could be part of this occasion," said the President.
He then gave his token, a fully-paid four-night stay at the Leopard Beach Resort in Diani.
"Because of that (disrupting your plans), I am going to sponsor four nights at Leopard Beach resort in Diani and CS Kithure Kindiki will organise your tickets and we will organise a good limousine to take you to the hotel and pick you up.
"My best wishes in your marriage," said the President.
The couple then had the privilege of posing for a photo with Ruto and his cabinet secretaries before proceeding to cut their cake.
