Gospel singer Kambua has taken to social media to school netizens on unforgiveness and how it can stunt one's progress in life.
Sharing her two cents in a social media post, the former Rauka TV show host began by narrating how betrayal from a close friend left her bitter.
"About a decade ago I experienced betrayal that at the time felt so deep, I couldn't wrap my mind around it. I would go into prayer about it and just cry cry cry. Copious amounts of bitter tears! The friendships I'd held dear suddenly felt strangely misaligned, unsafe, and belligerent. It felt like a forever season with no end in sight," she wrote.
Despite not being friends anymore, Kambua admits she harbored unforgiveness and wanted nothing to do with the said individual. This was until God convicted her to let go and repent.
Luckily for Kambua, a continuous deep dive of reflection and repentance enabled her to let go of her unforgiveness.
"It was in that season that the spirit of God began to strongly convict me about harboring unforgiveness. I knew that as much as I put on a brave front, I wasn't truly free and would not attain healing as long as I let bitterness find a home in my heart. It started a deep dive of reflection, releasing, and repentance over and over until one day I realized I no longer felt nauseous when I pondered over all that had happened. God by his grace helped me to forgive, even to an extent of ministering to the said individuals years down the line," she added.
According to the gospel singer, unforgiveness is one of the biggest hindrances to one's growth. She says holding on to betrayal and disappointment gives an individual a false sense of power that only makes them bitter and unproductive in the long run.
"Friends, unforgiveness is one of the biggest hindrances to your growth. It will pull you back, stunt you, and cause you to be very unproductive. The deception with bitterness is how it gives a false sense of power over the situation. Power grossly laced with pride," she went on.
Although far from easy, for the year 2023, Kambua implored her fans to try their best to live a free life by constantly forgiving anyone who hurts them.
"Is it easy to forgive? Sometimes it will take blood, sweat and tears, but beloved it is worth it. But more than that, it is qualifies us for forgiveness from our Heavenly Father. I implore you to start the year right. Let's travel light in 2023," she concluded.
