Lola Omotayo, the wife of singer and actor Peter Okoye has on September 2 turned a year older. Taking to social media to celebrate his wife’s birthday, the P Classic Group CEO, formerly of the defunct Nigerian music powerhouse P-Square, gushed over his wife as he invited the world to share his abounding joy.

“Please join me and wish my wife, my best friend, my partner, my lover, the mother of my children and the keeper of my heart a special happy birthday!” wrote Okoye. In the comment section, several celebrities joined the star in wishing the glam girl the best of wishes. Leading the pack was Congolese songbird Awilo Longomba of the Moto Pamba fame who in his message, wrote “Happy birthday @lolaomotayo_okoye the wonderful woman of my brother.” While reality TV personality, rapper and singer Michael Efe Ejeba also known as Efe Money posted, “Happy birthday ma. More life more energy.” So did fast-rising Nollywood actor Benson Okonkwo who summed it all up and shared,” Happy birthday beautiful queen age with grace.”

Taking to her personal account, Lola, in a deep post glazed with introspection, stated that she is grateful and feels blessed. “Baba Modupe o! Another year added...I am grateful to the Almighty God for His grace and mercy upon my life. I give God all the glory. I am thankful for everything He has blessed me with, my life, my health, my family and friends,” she wrote.

She has every reason to count her blessings. In July, she opened up about her experience with coronavirus and appealed for vigilance.  "I don't wish this upon my worst enemy and I need to let everybody known that Covid is real. I suffered, I went through a lot of pain, I watched my family go through it and I really don't wish this against my worst enemy," she wrote. "I want to thank my doctor Dr Ayo who took good care of me, my family, and staff. I want to thank everyone who reached out to us during this terrible Covid-19 experience. My dear friends and family, thank you so much for your love. Your phone calls and prayers helped me and my family heal faster."
