As the saying goes that 'a fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree', Saumu Mbuvi has followed on her philanthropic father’s footsteps by adopting a needy girl.
In a tear-jerking post that has been shared widely on Instagram, Saumu narrated that the story of the young girl moved her to tears and necessitated her move.
Saumu shared that the Hearts Children’s Home toddler has gone through a lot but she will henceforth be under her care and prayed for God’s guidance as she starts her life with her family.
“Yesterday I met such a beautiful angel at Hearts Children’s Home, a child so pure and innocent but what she has gone through left me so broken and in tears.
“I agreed and vowed that she will be my responsibility and a new member of my family for the rest of my life. I’m so happy that I’m going to be a mother to such a beautiful soul... May God guide and protect this little angel for me always,” posted Saumu.

Satrine Osinya
The young girl joins Satrine Osinya; a seven-year-old boy adopted by Governor Sonko when he was a year half years old after his mother, Veronica, was shot dead by terrorists at Joyland Church, Likoni, Mombasa, in 2014.
According to witnesses, gunmen stormed into the church and started shooting indiscriminately. In the melee, Osinya was shot at and had to be operated on to remove a bullet lodged in his head at the Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi.
"The devil continues to be a liar and always defeated Baby Osinya is now master Osinya as today just a few minutes ago he turned 7yrs old. As a family, we thank God for making you become a blessing to us. May you grow in wisdom and favour of God. We love you so much. Happy birthday to you,” wrote Sonko during Osinya’s lavish birthday three months ago.
Moses Gift Osinya
Moses Gift Osinya - Satrin’s brother – was also welcomed into the governor’s fold and was hand in hand with Sonko's wife Primrose Mbuvi in 2017 on his first day at Lenana School on scoring 399 marks.
An elated Sonko could not hold back as he shared in triumph pictures of Gift’s first day, a memorable occasion far from the 2014 front-page photo of him cuddling his blood-stained younger brother in Likoni.
“I wish to take this opportunity on behalf of my lovely wife and on my own behalf to congratulate my adopted son Gift Osinya the boy who rescued his younger brother Satrin during the terror attack in which their mother was brutally murdered.
“We pray that the Almighty God continue to bless him and may this be the beginning of a successful academic journey.”
