Kobi Kihara

Former NTV presenter Kobi Kihara has been a trending topic for the better part of Friday 24 after Kenyans came out in large numbers to accuse her of Plagiarism.

Kihara, who traveled to United States just last month to join a prestigious design school in New York, found herself at the mercy of Kenyans online after a hawk-eyed fan noted a photo of a plate of salad she claimed to have prepared was actually googled from the internet.

Kenyans then went on to share a bunch of photos she has lifted from various websites and posted as her own.

Using the hashtag #KobiWithAnEye which she uses when sharing her photos on social media, Kenyans mocked her for faking her lifestyle, some even questioning whether she even enrolled in the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York as she had stated.

Did Kobi Kihara use a Google photo and passed it as her own?

Using TinEye or Google reverse Image search, you will discover Kobi Kihara's photo was first posted on July 6, 2016 by howsweeteats.com, a website dedicated to giving it's audience delicious recipes.

Several random images from her Instagram account also give similar results, including a wide collection of expensive stiletto heels she claims to have bought.

"Is validation that big a deal that you have to screenshot gaddamn salad off google, post it in your IG account and say its you who made it just to get likes and stay 'relevant' yet you never did? Surely. #KobiWithAnEye,” a fan asked.

"How long till she says that #KobiWithAnEye means she wanted to see if we'd notice that the posts are fakes? And that it was for research?" said another.

"Fake it till you make it. #KobiWithAnEye." quipped another follower.

Kobi's latest accusations might also end up being catastrophic to her career.

She was recently picked by UK Magazine Luxuria Lifestyle Network as their Global Brand ambassador because of "her luxurious lifestyle" that falls in line with the brand. She was official announced as an ambassador in July.

“This is how excited you look when you get the news that you’re one of the new Global Brand Ambassadors for Luxuria Lifestyle Network. Can’t wait to take you guys through the world of luxury," posted the former AM Live presenter after being announced.

Entertainers and celebrities usually find themselves in muddy waters while trying to match fans' expectations verses their reality. Several celebs, both local and international, have been exposed for faking their lifestyle on social media just to stay relevant and prove they are well-off.
