Amani’s husband, Chinasa Udeala, has been appointed the new General Manager for Safaricom’s Songa Music.

In a statement to newsrooms, Safaricom described Mr Udeala as one of “Africa’s top music streaming business experts” who was, until his appointment to Songa, the Regional Director East Africa of Boom play Music where he helped expand the streaming business significantly.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North London and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Marketing from University of Greenwich–London.

“I am very passionate about the Kenyan and African music industry. I want to help establish Songa as the leading platform for Local, African and international music in Kenya and on the continent,” said Udeala.

Amani (Cecilia Wairimu), married her Nigerian boyfriend Chinasa Udeala in a secret wedding last year.

In an earlier interview, the gospel singer spilled the beans about her secret wedding.

’It’s a done deal, I’m already married. I’m someone’s wife now. I know many are waiting to see a wedding but I’m one very private person. That’s why you don’t see me doing interviews in my house or other intrusive stuff like that,’’ said Amani.

Amani was recently in the news over her transition from secular to gospel music shortly after fellow songbird Rosemary Wahu Kagwi better known as Wahu also crossed the floor.
