Were it not for Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) producer Lizer Classic aka Magic Fingers, East Africa’s biggest hit ‘Kwangwaru’ would not have been a success story as it is today.

The WCB producer revealed that a disagreement between Diamond and Harmonize almost made the collabo impossible after Diamond told him to delete the vocals from the song.

‘’Kuna kipindi kumewahi kutokea mikwaruzani kati ya Harmonize na Diamond Platinumz. Nakumbuka kuna siku Diamond alikuja Studio akaniambia kuwa nifute vocal zake zote katika wimbo wa Kwangwaru nibakishe tu vocal za Harmonize.

“Nikaona nisije nikapoteza kibaru changu, nikajua tu hawa wamegomba. Ivo nilimwambia tu mafuta lakini sikufuta,” said the producer said during a recent interview.

The collabo between the two bongo artists was not a match made in heaven at first. The song was to be a collabo between Harmonize and Davido but the Nigerian star was not available at the time they wanted to record it.

Realizing the value Diamond brought to the song, Harmonize admitted that his contribution though small, had a huge impact on the song because of his image.

“Ukizungumzia rekodi hii ndio ngoma ya kwanza kutoka Africa mashariki kufikisha watazamaji million (10) ndani ya mwezi @director_kenny & @zoom_production_Umeshaisikia mara ngapi....???

“So namshukuru ana mchango mkubwa licha ya verse ambayo amefanya kwenye wimbo lakini pia image yake imetumika kusaidia,’’ said Harmonize.

The song now has over 10 million views on YouTube.
