A former Member of County Assembly was yesterday arrested over the death of his former wife who was allegedly raped and doused with acid.
The arrest came on the day that Lucy Njambi died at the Kenyatta National Hospital after the Wednesday night incident.
According to relatives, Njambi was abducted by three people.

Her ex-husband Samuel Ndung’u, who was MCA Riruta, was yesterday taken to a Kiambu court but remanded after detectives investigating the matter asked that they continue holding him for several days in order to finish investigations.

Kiambu District Criminal Investigation Officer Paul Wambugu said they received request for assistance from the deceased who was seeking treatment at Kiambu Level 5 Hospital on Wednesday at 10pm.
The DCIO said the slain mother of one indicated to the police that she had been assaulted by two men and a woman in a coffee plantation. “She told police officers that the trio had raped her before dousing her with acid.
The three are still at large but we are holding Ndung’u, to help us with investigations,” he said.
He added: “We are pursuing other leads to find out what may have happened.”
