Kenyan singer Vivian’s life story is a grass to grace tale. A couple of months back, Vivian revealed how she used to sleep hungry despite her music getting airplay all over.
In a tell-it-all post, the Chingi Changa singer narrated how she was once turned away from performing at a show because the promoter thought her dressing looked ‘ghetto’.
“At that time I used to earn 4,000 from my Karaoke gig, after deducting the rent, transport, I would survive on less than 500 for a whole month” she revealed.
Through a Facebook post on January 18th, Vivian yet again opened up on her life struggles. According to Vivian, she was a mali mali seller, hawking commodities to earn a little cash.
“I sold cups, plates, thermos to make ends meet” stated Vivian.

She urged her fans not to despise someone’s humble beginnings while encouraging those struggling with day to day life. “Your current situation is not your future,” urged Vivian.

Vivian isn’t the only Kenya singer who hawked commodities to make ends meet. Vicmass Luodollar, famous for his Bank Otuch hit was once a hawker too.
