The youngest ever MP to be elected to Parliament, John Paul Mwirigi, has received a huge makeover courtesy of 'one of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s designer'.

Mwirigi, 23, who defied all odds to be elected as an Independent to represent Igembe South constituency, got a wardrobe makeover befitting his new status.

In the photos, Mwirigi is seen trying on new high-end suits accompanied by Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie and Churchill Raw comedian MC Jesse.

From the clean-cut suits, one could be forgiven not to image the hurdles the first time MP had navigated to making history at the August house.

He relied on well-wishers during his campaigns and after making history by being elected, rode on a bus from Meru to Nairobi during the parliamentary orientation. He does not own a car.

The Bachelor of Education student was also driven to State House by Tharaka MP George Murugara for a Jubilee parliamentary group meeting chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

After the meeting, Mwirigi reportedly walked on foot looking for a friend who had volunteered to chauffeur him around until he buys his own car.

He was quoted as saying that he did not want to bother his newfound colleagues.

He won the Igembe South parliamentary seat by 19,980 votes against Jubilee's Rufus Miriti's 16,615 votes.
