At least 8 students died and several injured at the Moi Girls fire tragedy that took place on 1 September 2017.
Education CS Fred Matiangi said,""A fire broke out at the school at 2:00am in the morning in one of the dormitories. It is very, very sad."
On 4 September 2017, CS Matiagi said that the fire was not an accident but a case of arson. This is after the the police investigations were done.
The DNA of the girls who passed away in the fire tragedy is set to be done today, 5 September at the Chiromo Mortuary, Nairobi.
