Little over a week after reports claimed the lead singer of one of the most popular rock bands was reported dead has been laid to rest in a private funeral over the weekend.
Chester was found dead in his house after he committed suicide on July 20th at the age of 41. In the presence of around 200 friends, relatives and musicians, the private ceremony took place Rancho Paolo Verdes, California.
From those who attended, the funeral service setup included a full stage where mourners gave musical tributes and yellow ‘Chester Bennington’ wristbands and memorial cards designed to resemble backstage passes were in the offing.
According to reports, Bennington’s family opted for a private funeral as opposed to a public one for security reasons. Fan-organized public memorial events however were organized in various cities throughout the world.
The Linkin Park vocalist’s death sent shockwaves through the music community and many took to social media to pour out their condolences.

Chester died from hanging after the Los Angeles County coroner confirmed his cause of death.
He is survived by wife Talinda Bennington and his six children, three shared with Talinda and three from previous relationships.
Following his death Linkin Park cancelled its North America tour taking to social media to thank fans for their support.
