Safaricom has announced that M- Pesa will be out-of-service for four hours on Sunday night from 12 midnight to 4am in the morning. This will be the final phase of the scheduled upgrades that the telecommunication company has been doing on the system.
As part of the three-week upgrade, Safaricom aims at adding more M-Pesa features as well as automating some functions so as to reduce the need for customers making requests at its call centre.
“The final upgrade will result in a new, modern M-Pesa platform with increased functionalities, which will be rolled out to enhance the M-Pesa experience for all our customers and partners.” Said Safaricom’s corporate affairs director, Stephen Chege
