A matatu plying the Rongai route, dubbed Golden Phantom, could soon be crossing the waters to Saudi Arabia following on-going negotiations between the owner and a yet-to-be-identified sheikh.

The matatu came with air brush finishing art that left tongues wagging since it hit the road with costly and exclusive features that are said to have thrilled the sheikh.

Golden Phantom won just-concluded Rongai Nganya awards and is fitted with tablets on each seat in what some describe as the most expensive investment on a matatu in the country.

It also has pure interior and exterior art instead of old-school graffiti, this is accompanied by three clear sunroofs on the ceiling that let in enough light.

Pulse contacted the matatu's Johnson Warigi who revealed: "It is true that the talks between us and the Sheikh are underway and once we strike the deal we will share the news with our loyal passengers and fans".
