Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) footage of the late Kabete MP George Muchai's movements on the night he was killed was played in court yesterday.
A lone gunman shot Mr Muchai on February 7, 2015 at the Nyayo House round-about in Nairobi's Central Business District.
Anthony Mwangi, Nairobi City County works officer who took the court through the footage said it captured the movements of Muchai's vehicle from Westlands through Uhuru Highway and later as it joined Kenyatta Avenue where it is alleged he was attacked by gunmen.
He was testifying in the case in which Eric Isabwa alias Chairman, Raphael Kimani alias Kim Butcheri, Mustapha Kimani alias Musto, Stephen Astiva alias Chokore, Jane Wanjiru alias Shiro, Margaret Njeri and Simon Wambugu have denied four charges of murder.
They are accused of murdering Mr Muchai, his two bodyguards Samuel Kimathi Kailikia and Samuel Lekakeny Matanta, and his driver Stephen Ituu Wambugu.

Yesterday Mwangi, told court that the two CCTV cameras:the Intelligence Traffic Management Systems Surveillance (ITMSS) camera which captures movements of vehicles within CBD and the Vehicle Number Plate Recognition (VNPR) cameras which are mounted together were fully operational before and after the deadly attack.
"We used the VNPR and we were able to recognise the number plate. From the footage we were also able to identify the vehicle that obstructed the MP's vehicle a minute after he stopped along Kenyatta Avenue on his way to Kimathi street junction," he said.
From the CCTV footage played in court yesterday, the vehicle suspected to be Muchai's joins Kenyatta Avenue from Westlands at 02.51.21am and a minute later, at 02.52.08am, another vehicle joins it.
The footage captures the second vehicle, which is suspected to have ferried the attackers moving from Westlands through the Uhuru Highway roundabout and later joining Kenyatta Avenue where it obstructs Muchai's vehicle which all through the footage remains stationary with full lights on.
In the footage, at 02.52.28am, the second vehicle moves directly in front of Muchai's vehicle before disappearing.
The VNPLR captured number plates of Muchai's vehicle next to a Toyota Spacio at 02.57.42 am. The car is suspected to have been used by the attackers. It also captures an armed man standing at the driver's door of Muchai's vehicle.
