Former Vice President, Dr. Moody Awori, is not dead. This is after internet rumours spread news that the veteran politician had passed on.
In a race to be the first to break the news, several local blogs tweeted about his ‘death’ and even went as far as publishing stories on the same.
In their reports they said the Moody ‘had passed on after a long illnes'.

At around 11:00 P.M. however, it emerged the rumours were not true after credible sources close to the family refuted the reports.
ODM Director of Communications, Philip Etale, asked Kenyans to ignore the rumours.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Hon. Moody Awori’s daughter says Mzee is well and in bed. Please ignore this bad joke,” reads his tweet.
Twitter users immediately reacted to this with some asking the online fraternity who had tweeted about Uncle Moody’s death to delete the posts, and apologise:

@254Chista: People want to kill Moody Awori! That is not wise. Talk about something you are sure of on social media because people read what you write.
