Video production crew at work

The Strength of a Woman, a film that won five Kalasha Awards last year had its footage stolen after it had been edited, Pulse can now reveal.

"We had been editing at Sinema Sisi in Westlands. We then decided to move to our own studio in Kinoo. Getting to the gate at around 6pm, we realised that we had been followed. Six gangsters came and hijacked us," discloses Manasseh Chege, the film's scriptwriter.

He was with a crew member. The thugs drove them from Kinoo to Ondiri Swamp in Wangige and stole footage of the film and three backups, three computers, their phones and wallets.

The thugs even got the time to ask for passwords to their computers, perhaps a hint that they knew about the film project. A sound engineer they had hired from Austria saved the day when she informed then that she had the footage too.

"For three months we did not know what to do. Everything we had shot and edited was all gone. When she heard about the incident, she told us that she also happened to have footage," says Manasseh.
