In the era of social media a simple tweet can cause immense discomfort and focus attention of huge populations on a small matter.

These platforms have caused trouble for popular individuals especially when their messaging is interpreted to be offensive or abrasive.

In England footballer Rio Ferdinand of QPR (formerly Manchester United) is facing a three match ban because of his twitter message.

Replying to a Manchester United fan, who suggested that QPR needed to sign a new centre-back, Ferdinand wrote: ‘Get ya mum in, plays the field well son! #sket’.

The world now knows that ‘sket’ is Jamaican slang for a loose woman.

Closer home Bishop Kiuna's simple message set off an online storm.

This came after he tweeted, “Having a wonderful golfing day in Pretoria. As haters hate, I am enjoying the goodness of God. Love y’all n c u Sunday.” This tweet was complete with a photo of the Bishop holding his golf carry bag.

Well this did not sit well with Kenyans who were still angry at the ease with which men of the cloth are taking advantage of their flock to enrich themselves.

Less than 48 hours ago, there was uproar from the Kenyans after the expose on ‘Dr Prophet’ Victor Kanyari by KTN’s Jicho Pevu and Inside Story.

The good Bishop then edited the tweet to add little humility to his cause. It read, “Had an amazing day golfing in Pretoria. Beautiful country and wonderful people.  Enjoyed doing ministry @JccJoburg.”

And in case you thought the man of God was going to succumb to the pressure from the haters on social media, think again!

The latest tweet posted on his account reads, “Unmoved!  My faith is built on the solid rock.....JESUS CHRIST!!!”

Here are some reactions from social media;

@Blutifuldoll: @bishopkiuna I don't doubt that at all... but all this bike business, playing golf in Pretoria   is really unnecessary Bishop, God bless you.

@carolkimani2: @BishopKiuna it's always good to take a firm stand in Christian Jesus

@daningunjiri: @bishopkiuna: Right behind you Papa....doesn't matter what they say, your sons remain with you!

‏@buoyGj: @BishopKiuna You might not have used the churches money for this, but think of how it looks to the guy who gave you his last 50bob on Sunday

@humnju: Dear @Bishopkiuna, Twitter is not the best place right now...It has been known to bring Governments down..#justsaying

@JICHOdaDOG: Psssssh it's built on solid money RT @BishopKiuna: Unmoved!  My faith is built on the solid rock.....JESUS CHRIST!!!

‏@Joe_Kioko: When servants of God @BishopKiuna, start talking about their opulence and significance then you know we're wolves in sheep' clothing.

@ay1m: @makodingo lol when pastors start flaunting their wealth. They you know our moral fibre is dead. @BishopKiuna

@ay1m: @makodingo Dear @BishopKiuna it is possible to enjoy wealth discreetly. Nobody needs to know how much God has blessed you.

Jared Oresi: We still have genuine men of God. If the kiuna's are truly servants And blameless my prayer is they buy a private jet soon ...we don't have that around yet

Felix Amati Areri: Kiunas have never said they do u miracles! they pray for u, u tithe or any other offering. I think they are among the genuine pastor around nrb. Building or not ni wivu yako. Endelea tu kuendesha toyota allion while u complain. Do u ever watch Daughters of zion and see how many people attend and how much they pay?

Macharia Wangari: Eeeeeeeeeish look at u..... kwani a man of God or woman of God is supposed to be poor. Our God is Jehovah Jireh n' our source......Abraham was a rich man and we are the seed of Abraham and we are blessed.Eeeeeeeh nyinyi the Kiunas never fraud people.

Dennis Waswa: But who said religious leaders should not be rich when all the silver and gold belongs to God?

Rael Ogondi Omolo: Every religion has its fanatics and loophiles. You as a Christian is supposed to read your Bible and not just blindly follow what a man on the pulpit says. He is a man, human, imperfect.

These prosperity Pastors are cons have noticed something, Christians and especially Kenyans obsession with extreme and quick money and so they are capitalising on it. If you are ignorant to the word of God and sound doctrine then how are you gonna blame them? You are failing as a Christian.

Marcus Marc Blaze: Be careful when you touch the annointed of God.....NOT ALL pastors are cons.....so be very careful when you are listing em down....God is watching!!! This aint a threat.....some Men of God are True Men of God.....You NEVER know which one so BE VERY CAREFUL...U may do it to receive attention and millions of comments and likes on your update BUT BE VERY CAREFUL.
