Former Tahidi High actress, Barbra Chepkoech, regrets not keeping in touch with the late Kalenjin singer Diana ‘Chelele’ Musila after relocating to the US.
Chepkoech claimed she met Chelele and became very good friends after she did a rendition of one of her songs.
“When I first met Chelele, I was humbled that she had done a cover of one of my songs. I was not mad, but humbled at her creativity.”
In her long post on Facebook, Barbra hinted that maybe things would have been better if she had stayed in touch.
“We went on different paths...life happened.... I was far and I am guilty of that. I ask myself a lot of what ifs. I am scared because I know I have been down that path. It’s never okay. So sorry Chelele. I am so sorry Diana.”
The former actress turned musician also expressed her interest in taking care of Chelele’s children.
“How do I reach your babies? As a mother, I cry for them. I would love to help because I know the pain of a child being taken from the mother. I know the fear of not being able to protect and be there for them. As mothers, we go through that,” she wrote.
Chelele’s body was discovered by her family a week ago, with deep stab wounds.
