Maina Njenga recently made a grand entry into the Laikipia County Assembly. It was so grand that many confused him for area Governor Julius Irungu.

Members of the assembly allowed Njenga entry without drama, before being directed by the sergeant at arms to the official public gallery.

The former sect leader later held a meeting with the county Speaker Patrick Mariru and other elected leaders.

“I am pleased by Speaker Mariru for allowing me to visit the assembly and see how leaders debate. Actually, this is my first time to set foot in any Parliament, and I have learnt a lot as I prepare to campaign for the senatorial seat,”said Njenga.

While addressing the press outside the assembly chambers,Njenga said that if elected, he will devote his time and energy to seeing that residents have clean and safe water.

He also said that he will liaise with relevant authorities to ensure that the road from Nyahururu to Nanyuki is repaired and the problem of human-wildlife conflict is addressed through electric fencing of areas that are inhabited by wildlife.
