Women attending an event at the Othaya Approved School grounds were put to test by being asked to send ‘I love you’ messages to their hubbies.
Those whose husbands responded back with lovey-dovey messages walked away with Sh1,000.
The women who were a bit shy were called upon by Murang’a County Woman Representative, Sabina Wanjiru Chege, to ‘test’ whether their husbands loved them.
Out of the hundreds who sent the messages only one received a similar message from her husband to walk away with Sh1,000.
“It is funny that only one woman got a reply. You profess love to some men and they act surprised”, Sabina said.

Pregnant women in attendance also received Sh1,000 as a token of appreciation.
Legislators Sabina Chege, Mary Wambui, Rachel Shebesh and Runyenjes MP Cecil Mbarire gave the women the money and congratulated them for the good job.
Mbarire claimed that in most cases, the women are never appreciated, yet they are the ones who carry the pregnancy for nine months and endure the pain that come with child birth.
“A man’s work hardly lasts for three minutes. It is the woman who will be left with the burden of pregnancy for nine months,” she said, adding that, “These women wake up early to tend to duties around the house while their husbands are still snoring in bed.”
