Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu recently updated her followers on the health of her lover - popular Mugithi musician Samuel Muchoki, better known as Samidoh.

Senator Nyamu shared news of his hospitalization and subsequent discharge, but did not disclose the nature of his illness.

In a message via TikTok recorded at a fueling station where she appeared to be in good spirits and lip-syncing to a song by Priscillah Waimani, Nyamu revealed Samidoh had been discharged from the hospital, captioning the video, "Yule mtu unapenda akitoka hosi. Thank you God."

In a subsequent post on Instagram, Nyamu shared a picture of herself with Samidoh and referred to him as "our king", expressing her desire for him to get well soon.

The senator has been receiving criticism from some quarters regarding her relationship with Samidoh, and she has been responding to her critics through social media.

She recently posted photos of her daughter's birthday party with Samidoh, weeks after the event, but only after Samidoh's first wife, Edday Nderitu, had shared photos of her daughter's birthday party. She even updated her Instagram profile picture to include a photo of herself with Samidoh and their daughter.

Nyamu's relationship with Samidoh has been the subject of much media attention and public scrutiny, with some questioning the appropriateness of their relationship given Samidoh's marital status.

While some fans have praised Nyamu for standing up for the man she loves and the father of her children, others have been less kind. She has, however, not shied away and and, often, takes on her detractors head on.
