A private firm has partnered with the police to beef up security in the leafy Runda suburb.
Wananchi Group’s home entertainment and communications services brand, Zuku, has invested in IT to improve surveillance and communication between the public and police.
Zuku has installed CCTV cameras, putting the entire Runda under electronic surveillance. It has also provided high-speed internet connection in local police stations. Runda Residents Association has praised the project.
Other police stations covered by Zuku include Muthaiga, Pangani, Runda, Gigiri, Karen and Kilimani. The Nairobi area traffic command has also been connected to free internet service through the Zuku fibre network.
