Although it has been a year since the demise of Tanzanian billionaire Reginald Mengi, for his widow Jacqueline Ntuyabaliwe Mengi alias K-Lynn, it is as though it was yesterday.
In a series of posts on Instagram, the singer cum businesswoman remembered her late husband in a heartfelt message explaining how much she missed him.
“I never knew a whole year can pass and still feel just like yesterday. Forever you will be loved, forever you will be remembered. One in a billion you were. Continue to Rest In Peace,” wrote Ntuyabaliwe.
In a separate post, the Miss Tanzania 2000 went on to vow to continue growing Mengi’s legacy through their kids and support the needy as he often did.
“My love, not a day passes without a thought of you. I thank God for your life, for the opportunity to love and be loved by you. I and the kids miss you terribly. We shall try our best to preserve your legacy and continue to support those in need. I know that would’ve made you smile. Continue to Rest In Peace mpenzi wangu,” she said.

Not too long ago, Ntuyabaliwe took to her social media page to appreciate her late husband for the gift of their two children adding that his memory was still fresh in their minds.
“Dear Reg, I’m very grateful for the gift of these two amazing Machame boys that you left me with. By the grace of God, we continue to be alive and healthy. Your boys still remember and repeat the words you always told them, “you’re always number one, and you can do anything”. They continue to be a great source of joy and motivation for me and I promise to raise them the way that you would’ve been proud of. Till we meet again.”

A few months after his demise, Ntuyabaliwe through twitter claimed that she had been barred from visiting Mengi’s grave.
“Nimenyamaza kwa mengi sana tu.Mmefikia hatua ya kunizuia mimi na wanangu kuingia kwenye kaburi la mume wangu,tunafukuzwa eti mpaka tuombe ruhusa ya kuingia kwenye kaburi la mume na Baba wa watoto wangu!
"Nimechoka,sitakubali kuendelea kuona wanangu wakisononeka na sitakaa kimya,” she tweeted previously.

Speaking during an interview with Millard Ayo, Ntuyabaliwe accused the late billionaire’s younger brother Benjamin of not defending her over claims she had something to do with her late husband’s death.
"Kwa sababu nilikaa nikajiuliza sisi kama familia nikajiuliza (na mimi ndugu za mume wangu ni ndugu zangu kwa sababu nimeolewa hapo,) kwa nini ndugu yangu ama shemeji wangu ambaye najua ni mtu wangu wa karibu. Kwa nini hazungumzie chochote na anaona mambo haya yote yanasambaa?” She noted.
Inheritance
Ntuyabaliwe added that after her late husband’s will was read, Benjamin went to court to dispute it.
“Baadaye nikaambiwa kuwa Benjamin ameenda mahakamani kupinga, pamoja na mtoto wetu mkubwa. Nilishtuka, kwa kweli nilishtuka sana kwa sababu huyu ni shemeji yangu.
"Ningeona ni vyema kama shemeji angekuja hapa nyumbani akaniambia kuna hili na hili. Kwenye familia hakuna haja ya kuenda mahakamani. Tunaenda kugombania nini mahakamani?”

She claimed that Benjamin has tarnished her husband’s name and since he is not alive to defend himself, she has vowed to fight for his honour.
