NAIROBI, KENYA: Teachers unions have asked Industrial Court to change today’s hearing in order to have it placed before Justice Nduma Nderi next week.
Lawyers Ahmednassir Abdullahi, Paul Muite and Harun Ndumbi argue that the case to stop the strike is an off spring of Nduma's judgement and thus he is best placed to determine the new duel.
TSC is however opposed to the plea arguing that the unions are playing games to delay the hearing of the case.
The stand-off between the teachers and their employer has crippled studies during the crucial final term when Class Eight and Form Four students are expected to sit for national examinations. The union has insisted that its members will stay away from classes until the commission pays their raised salaries. TSC had threatened to sack teachers who will boycott classes.
