Tharaka MP and bipartisan talks co-chairperson Gitonga Murugara now wants a meeting between him and Otiende Amollo.
In a letter to Amollo, Murugara addressed the interim measures and suspension of the joint bipartisan talks/dialogue.
"On behalf of the Kenya Kwanza team, I do appreciate the kind gesture of withholding the issuance of the notice of dissolution under clause 38 of the framework agreement as we discuss the wording of the two letters to the IEBC selection panel chairman and the IEBC CEO," said Murugara.
Murugara's letter came a day after Otiende Amollo wrote him a letter referenced as 'urgent' after the bipartisan talks were suspended.
The suspension of the joint bi-partisan dialogue follows an ultimatum issued by the Azimio la Umoja coalition yesterday to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, asking that they meet their demands by midnight of Tuesday, May 30.
"As you are aware, vide my letter of 28th May 2023, I attached drafts of the proposed two letters. Similarly, in your response of 30th May 2023, you have enclosed your version of the two letters," said Murugara.
The Tharaka legislator wants a meeting with him and Otiende Amollo.
"Now we need to meet and harmonize the two versions of the drafts as is practice of the talks before we co-sign and send them to the addresses.
I now propose a meeting for the two of us on Tuesday, 6th June 2023 at 9:00am at a mutually agreed venue." Said Murugara.
