For crime to be dealt with in the country, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) says stronger collaboration between the public and law enforcement agencies such as EACC and the police is important.
EACC Director of Investigations Paschal Kasoa Mweu says the fight against crime will accelerate economic growth, fast-track development and minimize incidences of insecurity.
Mbiuni was speaking in Machakos County during a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by a group dubbed 'Friends of Mbiuni Police Station'.
During the event, the group handed over an ablution block to the Mbiuni police station.
Leaders present during the event were Mwala Sub-County police commander and a section of local leaders.
EACC has previously cited public apathy as a leading obstacle in the fight against corruption.
The latest Annual Survey on Corruption and Ethics Report released on 30th December, 2022, indicates that over half of citizens (51.3%) do nothing at individual level to help in the fight against corruption and unethical practices.
