After much talk about her imported wedding gown priced at Sh700,000, the bride did not disappoint during her showstopper moment. The white dress Akothee had earlier indicated was flown in business class. She also revealed she had bought the dress as a gift to herself.

The bridegroom who had earlier arrived at the venue secretly was escorted to the wedding grounds with horses. He looked gorgeous in a white suit.

The bridal team had the groomsmen joining the procession in white while the bridesmaids wore orange dresses. The flower girls had fancy short cream-white dresses.

Among the invited guests were Gender CS Aisha Jumwa, Lang'ata MP Phelix Odiwuor aka Jalang'o, MP Millie Odhiambo, Kisumu Governor's wife Dorothy Nyong'o, Migori Governor's wife Agnes Ayacko and lawyer Patrick Lumumba.

Akothee had made it clear that every guest attending the event must show up with a gift else they wouldn't be allowed to the event. In a post on her Instagram, she explained that the gifts would benefit her and her fans, especially in helping raise donations towards hungry families in Turkana where her foundation has been donating food.

Her big wedding day, as the founder of her own tour company Akothee Safaris, happened to fall two days after her 40th birthday. It was the philanthropist and happy mother of five's second wedding after a divorce, with adult daughters Vesha Okello, Celly Rue, and Prudence Otieno among those who attended the ceremony.

Akothee previously said her two sons, Prince Ojwang and Prince Oyoo, who are both based in France, would miss the ceremony but would attend a second ceremony in Switzerland on July 10.

"Bring no propaganda or family politics to my wedding. My two sons will be the only ones who will miss my wedding because of school rules, but they will be present for the one scheduled for July 10."

Akothee has been engaged for a year.

"The first time I met Esther, I met her through my friend Pius, who lives near Lake Zug; she was in France on her way to Italy for the holidays, and after this video call, I told myself I had to meet her in person. Then Pius persuaded her to come to Switzerland, and on July 16th, Esther Akoth Kokeyo became mine."

Omosh said Akothee's fame and status did not diminish his feelings for her, and that it was her spirit, mind, and personality that captivated him the most.

"I didn't care about her status or who she is. I fell in love with her brain, spirit, personality, energy and she is beautiful."
