Sirisia MP John Waluke has revealed how his 'political friends' abandoned him after he was charged in the Sh313 million National Cereal and Produce Board fraud case last year.

Speaking during the funeral service of political mobiliser Joseph Kubende in Bahai village, Kimilili constituency, Bungoma county on Saturday, April 1, the MP, alleged that Azimio leaders frustrated him and deserted him.

"They are the same people who wooed me to join Azimio and promised to ensure the graft case I was facing is dropped but that never happened," said Waluke, who was elected on a Jubilee ticket in last year's elections.

He says he regretted ditching UDA for Azimio. "I was President William Ruto and UDA's point man in Bungoma before I was duped by Azimio," he told mourners.

Waluke said he learnt his lesson and decided to work with the government for the sake of the people of Bungoma.

"I thank residents of Bungoma for not participating in mass protests called by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga," he said.

"I am an Azimio MP but I have kept off the demonstrations because I have a lot to do, it is planting season and not time for demonstrations," he added.

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya urged Western leaders to unite and work together to benefit from the Kenya Kwanza government. "I went to see the Ruto, not for my gains but to discuss development projects for our county," he said.
