The body of a teacher at St Peters Boys Mumias in Kakamega County who drowned after an accident on a bridge last Sunday has been found.

The body of Joseph Ayoti Osuka was today found in River Lusumu at Shikufu area in Mumias east after days of searching.

The deceased, formerly a teacher at Butere Girls high school is said to have fallen into the river after he was involved in an accident Sunday night.

Police reports indicate that the accident occurred at 8:30pm when the late Ayoti hit a primary teacher who was on a motor bike along the Butere-Mumias road killing him on the spot.

A witness said they tried to help the teacher but their efforts bore no fruit.

"I was there when the accident occurred. He was speeding and he hit a motorcyclist from behind. The man died while the woman he was carrying sustained serious injuries, and we rushed her to hospital," said James Omoko.

Divers have since been searching for his body are still searching for the body until today swhen they located it.
