Lusaka appoints 3 women, technocrats to county Cabinet

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has unveiled his new county Cabinet comprising technocrats.

At least three women have been nominated to the Cabinet besides the Deputy Governor who will head the Investments, Partnerships and Resource Mobilisation department.

Monicah Salano Fedha, from Tongaren sub-county, has been nominated CEC Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Irrigation, and Cooperatives.

She holds a PhD in Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture.

The governor also picked Carolyne Khalayi, from Kabuchai sub-county, to head the Trade, Energy, and Industrialisation docket.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting degree. Nancy Charity Kibaba from Sirisia sub-county will be in charge of the Gender, Culture, Youth and Sports docket.

Other nominees are David Mamili Wanyonyi (Education and Vocational Training Department). Mr Mamili, who hails from Webuye East, holds a PhD in Education.

Health and sanitisation

Herbert Kibunguchi from Webuye West is nominee for Environment, Natural Resources, Water and Energy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

The powerful Roads, Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works docket will be headed by Bonaventure Chengek from Mt Elgon sub-county.

Dr Andrew Wekesa Wamalwa from Kanduyi sub-county has been nominated CEC Health and Sanitisation.

Dr Lusaka nominated Douglas Sasita, from Bumula sub-county, to head Lands, Urban Planning, Housing, and Municipalities docket.

Benedict Emachar, who represents special interest groups, is CEC nominee for Public Service Management and Administration docket while Josephat Kangale has been nominated as senior liason officer.

The county office in Nairobi will be headed by Joyshila Kilon'g while Dr Caleb Wata has nominated Director of Medical Services and Bramwel Simiyu as the Economic advisor.

The governor has picked Amos Makokha as county government legal advisor and Caren Wanyonyi as the Special programmes advisor.
