Vihiga's early risers in queues, counting minutes to vote

310,043 voters in Vihiga will be seeking to elect their new leaders at 627 polling stations spread across the county's five constituencies of Sabatia, Vihiga, Hamisi, Emuhaya and Luanda.

Among prominent leaders expected to vote in the county is Sabatia native Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi who is registered at Mululu Primary School.

Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo is, on his part, set to vote at Emanyinya Primary School in Emuhaya.

Senator George Khaniri of UDP is battling Ottichillo for the seat alongside three other candidates; former governor Moses Akaranga (PPOK), Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi (ANC) and former Vihiga county- secretary, Francis Ominde (FPK).

14 candidates are angling for the senatorial seat while 11 will face off for the Woman Representative position.
