Top leaders battle for the soul of the Coast ahead of 2022 contest

In the last three weeks, four top political leaders have held series of meetings and launched development projects at the Coast in what is shaping up as a scramble for the region’s political support.

On Tuesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta was in the region, a day after his deputy William Ruto concluded a three-day tour that took him to Kwale, Mombasa and Kilifi counties.
