Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has called on residents of the county to stay focused and avoid being duped by political brokers.
The senator said he had joined the winning team and that it would be foolhardy for his constituents not to follow him along because of people misleading them.
Gideon is a member of the ‘Super Seven’ team that spearheaded the campaign for the BBI Bill and plans to form a new coalition that will see the passage of the constitutional amendment at the referendum and win the 2022 General Election.
The team comprises President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM leader Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula, Charity Ngilu of Narc and Gideon.
Speaking just a week after Members of the Baringo County Assembly rejected the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), the Kanu national chairman told residents of Kabartonjo town in Baringo North to be wise and read the mood of the nation when it comes to making crucial political decisions.
The rejection of the Bill was, however, later overturned by court.
In his tour yesterday, hundreds of jubilant residents turned out to welcome him home.
Gideon noted that the journey to forming the winning team had taken shape and he would not wish to have his people locked out of government.
Thanksgiving
Gideon addressed the locals after attending a church service at Kabartonjo African Inland Church. He was in the company of Baringo Woman Representative Gladwell Cheruiyot, Kanu Secretary-General Nick Salat, former East African Minister Musa Sirma and a section of MCAs.
Baringo Deputy Governor Jacob Chepkwony and County First Lady Ivy Kiptis also attended the church service.
AIC Kabartonjo, which opened its door to congregants in 1992, was a project of the late President Daniel arap Moi. He initiated the project as a thanksgiving.
The visit by Senator Gideon followed an invitation by the church that had organised a fundraiser to purchase digital equipment.
Gideon, however, said he will personally handle the project

He said the future was bright, warning that they will soon know who is who as the 2022 elections approach.
“You are wise and you know where we are headed. The formation has already taken shape. Whatever happens, make sure you are in,” Gideon said.
The senator has hinted that Mudavadi, Kalonzo, Wetang’ula, Raila and Uhuru will join hands. They have since been seen walking together.
The senator called on the people of Baringo to respect leaders and unite in support of Uhuru in his development agenda.
Salat urged the locals to unite and support Gideon, noting they should read between the lines and stay alert.
“I am here on behalf of the party. I tell you to start embracing your son, and like him, stay united,” Salat said.
