The retrial of a case where four men are accused of conspiring to defraud the Kenya Wildlife Service has started six years after they were first charged.

Haresh Devraj Patel, 34, Samji Lalji Vekariya, 34, Ravilal Keshra Patel, 38, and Devraj Manji Sengani, 42 are charged with jointly conspiring to defraud KWS of Sh6,625 in entrance fees at the Meru National Park on December 27, 2014 in Igembe South.

In 2014, the four denied the charges and after a full trial, were acquitted by a Magistrate’s court following failure by the prosecution to produce witnesses in court.

Yesterday, the four denied the charges and were released on a Sh10,000 bail.
