KCA University holds virtual orientation for freshmen

KCA University on Friday held a virtual orientation for its new students through the Zoom teleconference platform.

The meeting allowed new students to familiarize themselves with the university operations, remote engagement procedures and the course requirements as they embark on their academic journey.

The orientation also provided an opportunity for new students to virtually interact with the university management, faculty and administration staff ahead of the beginning of the trimester.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Noah O. Midamba while addressing the new students announced that the university had reduced fee by 10% for all students during this period of COVID-19 pandemic.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs Prof. Joshua Bagaka’s said that the virtual orientation came at a time the university had successfully administered examination for the students who enrolled for the January –April 2020 trimester.

The University has also had its postgraduate students present their dissertation remotely and quite a number are looking forward to graduating later this year.

Director Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Justus Mutia observed that remote engagement was a unique program for the students in their quest for knowledge and the campus life activities will be carried out virtually.

He urged the new students to identify and join clubs and societies within the campus to maximize their life on campus. 

The KCA University May-August trimester will run on Moodle, Zoom, Microsoft teams and Google.
